Default wierd bolt problem on UCA

I was going to change out the UCA and ran into a wierd problem trying to remove the two chassis bolts on the forward mount plate. They would not turn, they just made a loud popping sound. I can't see or acess whatever the bolts screw into so I stopped there. It almost seems like a nut turning in a nutplate.

Has anyone else run into this problem? I read many posts on UCA's and haven't read a single one talking about a problem with getting these bolts loose.

I would take the trunk liner and the back seat out to see if there is access to the other side of them....you have to take the back seat anyways to get the front (3rd) bolt on the bracket...

I took the back seat out and you can't see what the bolt is screwing into either from inside the car or under the car. The nut must be welded in place.

There should be no way the bolts were welded into place, unless you bought your car used and the previous owner did some weird stuff to it. Anyway, I recently replaced mine and they were lock tite'd in so there was some noise and aggresive language on my part but they came out. Just make sure your socket is on good, because it's any easy bolt to strip the head on.
