Default Saleen Rims

I've been looking for a set of black 18" Saleen style Rims for my red n black (stripes) 05 GT. Everywhere I have looked (American Muscle, Cruizinconcepts.com) says that those rims only fit the 04 and under style mustangs. I know i've seen/heard of 05+ Mustangs with these rims...can someone please tell me if those rims will work...afterall they have the same bolt pattern n everything... thanks.

They will fit your car,but off-set is..... 1/4' less??? (I think), so wheel will stick out a little farther.

I figure you are looking for 9's & 10's? Compare the off-set for a pairof same widths advertised for S197's and the Saleen knock-offs and do the math. Seemsto me the S197's are +40 mm (f) and New Edge are +35mm (f), so you are only talking less than 1/4'. This will not be an issue unless you are going 10's up front and 11's out back.

I don't know why anyone would want to do that

The set that i was looking at where 9's up front and 10's out back...so that should work then they'll just stick out a little further...which should be fine.... i was just confused that it only said the 04' and down...and not the S197s.....

That is because the 'New Edge' Stangs ('99~'04) have a slightly different off-set of +10mm. So the seller wants to make it clear that they are 'meant' for cars prior to '05+ Stangs as they will fit 'better' on the earlier models.

Am Muscle right nowI see several options forFRONT WHEELS. I see '+05 18'x9' Bullits are +34mm off-set. The '99~'04 18'x9' Bullits are +24mm off-set. You are looking at a difference of approx. 3/8' farther outward if you install them on your ride. Now, going rears is another question on Am Muscle specifically. The difference is +23mm and nearly 1' further outward on an S197 for 18'x10' wheels. That is sugnificant and you will VERY likely have trouble running that much difference in off-set.

Look back over the last week or two on questions re: off-set and back-spacing. I have made several replies to this specific issue and will give you lots of info on how to confirm clearance on your ride and how to compare for off-set/back-space of new wheels you want to purchase.

OP - You can run them but the rears will stick out past the fenders. Not much but some. Personally I dont like that look.

You best bet is to but the chrome 05+ offset and have them powdercoated locally. This way you can pick your finish too. I like semi-gloss or matte.

Should cost you about $50-$80 per wheel.

Worth it in my opinion.
