I say, to hell with a little noise if they perform well and price is right :-) You also need to look at what kind of car the reviewers are running as you may find on more of a luxury ride and owner is used to quiet.

I run the R888's and read many reviews on how loud they were going to be (mono-block design), but have no problem with them. They do sound like small engine plane on certain types of asphalt tho. First time I heard it, I was looking all over up in the sky for a crop-duster :-)

I bought the KDW2s as they seemed to offer the best combination of dry and wet performance on the street and for road course track days.

I find them slightly noisier on the street than the OEM tires but it is acceptable.

On the track they are predictable and hang on well.

The car is also a DD and so far no issues at about 7,000 KM.

Wear is pretty good considering they have over 8 hours of hard track time. The only problem is scuffing on the outer shoulder on the left front. It is now going to the left rear.

How are these tires with steering feel? I've heard a complaint against them as being a little vague on turn in and around the center of the wheel. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
