Problem with Roush suspension ?
My boss installed roush suspension kit 3 years ago on his 2005 Gt when the car was brand new ! So far he had no problem but the other day while he was cruising on the highway he noticed smoke coming out of he's left front tire ! He stopped on the side to see what was wrong and notice that the sway bar arm was rubbing against his tire !
At first he thought that the sway bar unbolted from the shoch but with a closer look he realised that it still bolted but the bracket ripped away from the shock assembly !
here a pic of the shock

Now the thing his he bought the shock from a local distributor, he contact them to let them know about the problem then the distributor called Roush and roush told them that there is only a 90 day warranty on that part and they never had problem like that before !
So my boss dont argue and is willing to pay for the new part and since he had them for 3 year ( only did 40 000 KM app 25 000 miles with his car ) he dicided to order 2 new Roush shock for the front ! When we received the new part they where very similar to the old one exept for one important difference !
Look at the way the sway bar bracket was weld to the shock on the old version on the right compare to the new one ''left''

closer look of the new shock

My question is how come they improve the way they weld the bracket on the new shock if they never had problem with the previous version and did this happened to anyone here or someone you know ?
Thank's

Think ol Jack would stand behind his product better, I know other smaller manufactures that do Brett from fatman fabrications sent me updates to my street rod suspension free of charge 3 years after i bought it from him. Didnt even charge me shipping, think I would make some more noise at roush you know takes 13 good comments to make up for one unhappy customer.
I agree with Sleeper. Looks like this has most likely happened prior, but probably not very often. Roush decided to "beef-up" design to avoid bad rep/law suites/dangerous situations. Remember, the S197 was brand new at the time of Roush initial design and time has likely proven that more stress than was anticipated was applied to strut.
Looks like Roush has done the right thing to strengthen the strut. Your boss was not only fortunate not to have an accident, but get a reasonable amount of mileage prior to failure. If an accident had occured, he would have been VERY likely to receive some sort of compensation from Roush if issue was pushed. As it stands, I would just chalk it up to some bad luck and some good luck as well

When I got my Roush shocks in late 2006 their was a piece of
paper telling about a problem with earlier shocks having a
problem with ears breaking off and if the ones I was receiving
were for a warranty replacment how I was to pack for return.
The Roushes are made by Eibach as this letter covered both brands.
So they know they had problems, don't remember what time limits were.
