They make a 275/55/17 that fits well. It might be a 50 series sidewall but, you get the point.

I'm running the bias ply MT ET Streets on oem 17s. I think they have a 9.5 measuring width, but it seems to be fine on the 8 inch wheel (8.5 would prob be a better fit)

I am running the 275/40/17's on the stock 17" rim, I don't think anything bigger than that will fit and still be safe.

you won't be able to fit anything wider than a 275 on a stock rim i don't think.

I run a pair of 26x11.5x17" bias ply ET Streets on a spare pair of wheels. Brenspeed has a pretty good deal on them. Best bang for your buck in my opinion.

With or without tubes?

The reason I ask is because some places say get tubes, others say no. So I talked witha tech at MT and he said the 17" did not need a tube. Also wondering what your results (60') were compared to other DRs.

No tubes. My 60' times are consistently 1.7x, although I did dip down to 1.69 on an exceptionally well prepped track.
