Well your suspension setup is good. But keep in mind there are diffrent suspension setups based on what your doing with your car.

I do recommend a strut tower brace if you are doing any road racing or autoX. If your just a DD, or only Drag. Then there is no use for a strut tower brace.

And what is your deffinition of enough rubber? If its sidewall height, a good spring along with a good strut and shock will account for any cushion the extra sidewall height gives. My goal with a 295 was width. I currently only have 255 in the rear and am spinning like crazy, so by adding 80mm more of width I will get better traction. same for the front as well.

But also keep in mind it is perception:
295/30/22 sidewall height is 3.48"
285/35/18 sidewall height is 3.97"
so 1/2" is not a huge amount by any means in tire dampening
but having 20mm more width, is just shy of an extra inch in width.
Width = Traction
Height = Cushion.

You can certainly spend money on sub frame connectors and strut tower braces, but Griggs Racing doesn't think they are necessary.

The S197 chassis is a major departure from all other previous Mustangs from the standpoint of structural rigidity and geometry. Structurally, the tub, or Unit body frame work is extensively superior to all other Mustangs, to the degree that we deemed it unnecessary to add chassis stiffening devices in the manner of subframe connectors and/or frame kits unnecessary for all but the most serious of competition vehicles.

well... from drivin around all weekend i think i figured out a good setup... I put the sway bars to the middle setting in the rear and middle soft in the front. As for the Koni shocks I set them at 1 turn from firmest in the front and 1-1/2 turns from firmest in the back... this freakin car handles really well... it is very responsive and grips while in turns and much more controlable while drifting. I LOVE IT!!
