I think I'm going to contact BMR and see if they will give me a price break on the non-adjustable CA's w/o included ball joints and use the X5's I ordered. Just wondering how stiff they will be with the poly bushings... I don't want to rattle my fillings out. The H&R race springs are stiff enough as it is.

An alternative is to get the GT500 front lower control arms as they have stiffer bushings than stock but are not poly. Then you can install the X5 ball joints at your leisure and swap out the arms. That is what I did.

Excellent idea Sleeper. I think I will do that. I assume I can get those via Ford Racing parts.

Hey Rubrignitz -

Since those are MY springs...... : )

Here's a pic of my bumpsteer stack when I had them on the car.

The GT500 arms have better ball joints, and one section beefed up a tad - but that's it. I wouldn't buy them if you bought X5 ball joints already. The stiffer bushing thing is bunk, since you still have the hydra-bushing.

Perfect, now I have a great place to begin with the spacing. Looks like they'll need a considerable amount. The springs are awesome rodeo, thanks for the great deal! The GT500 CA's are ordered... the bumpsteer kit/balljoints are arriving tomorrow and the CA's next week. I'll be installing the bumpsteer kit this weekend.

Did you notice a considerable amount of steering stabilization with the bumpsteer kit rodeo?

I'm actually more interested in having the extra set of CA's with ball joints intact for whatever reason so if the GT500 arms aren't that much better it's ok. I plan to press the X5's into the new arms pre-upgrade to save install time. I'm accumulating an array of spare parts for this car, which I assume is a good thing. I can rip the entire rear suspension out in an accident and have the parts to rebuild it lol.

I now have another entire set of Steeda ultralite wheels (some with a bit of curb rash) with 275/40's on them so if anything happens to one of my wheels I can swap it out quickly.

When it's done right - absolutely. When it's done wrong - they're just show pieces.

Funny you should mention that. I've gotten along by the seat of my pants so far lol. I think I have a pretty good understanding of what needs to be done. So far, so good and you may be getting some PM's this weekend .

The spacers will equal the exact amount of front end drop you got
from the lowering springs you installed. Exactly.
