Lower trailing arms are Popping
My friend in flordia just had a speed shop install a set of Steeda Lower trailing arms (Billet) and the upper third link. He says he hears "Popping" when down shift or accellerate. Is this normal? We both have Shelby GT500. I installed the lower arms (myself) on mine and I don't have any noise. I don't have the upper link. Do you think they are put in wrong? I am in Memphis and he is in Flordia.
I had some popping noises as well after installing LCA's and lowering the car. It was pinion angle. Once I corrected the pinion angle all the noises disappeared. That may not be your friends issue but it sounds familiar to what I experienced. I also had "clunking" noises due to the hole on the stock upper control arm mount not fitting the aftermarket control arm bolt. The hole is slightly larger than the bolt. Steeda manufactures some "spacers" that help but I still hear it from time to time. I don't think it's possible to eliminate completely other than replacing the stock upper CA mount, something I plan to do once the weather changes in a few months and it's no longer 120 degrees in my garage
