Wheels for the track
My choice- after about a year fo searcing- was to save up and buy once, cry once. When you really start looking at the proper offsets, and seperate the good from the bad, you find there aren't a ton of choices unless you want to look like every other car out there. I'm just not one to do that.
Volk RE30 9.5x18 forged, 16 lbs. Offset is perfect. About 600.00 ea.
I'm running 275-40 Michelin PS2's.

The Steeda ultra-lites with the NT-01's are still working great for me. Been to about 6-7 track days with them now. I keep up with the Z06's when they are on street tires. Z06's run somewhere around 1:25's with street GT3's running 1:21-22's. I run down in the 1:22-23's.

He was running street tires, but still... 335's in the back with 295's in the front. I was running 275 NT-01's all the way around on my ultra-lites.
He wasn't a very good driver, he was practically drifting it around the track, slamming it coming out of corners, breaking the rear loose.
I've been waffling on my new wheels for way too long between trying to determine the correct wheel specs, how much I can spend and which style I like most.
I was sold on the RPF-1's then I saw the Volk RE30's that Steelcomp is using and decided that I'd spend the extra money and get those...Then realized with everything else planned for my car that I can't really afford the RE30's.
So I'm back to the RPF-1's. But before I ordered them I had one final, dreaded offset question.
I'm guessing that if the car and brake package are constants then determining proper offset may still vary from wheel to wheel, i.e. one wheel style in +38 may have necessary clearance but not so in another wheel style?
The reason I ask is because I've found a wheel that is 18x9 +36. I'm pretty sure I've read of wider wheels with +36 offset fitting S197's but again... What works with one wheel style may not with another?
I get the sense that short of buying the wheel I may not have any assurance.
Any thoughts, comments, recos are appreciated.
Thanks!

Those Volks are nice but I'd end up rashing one and shoot myself
. General concensus is ~34mm for a 9'' wide wheel on our cars, ~40mm in a 9.5'' width and ~45mm for a 10'' wide wheel so a 9'' in 36mm should be just about right IMO.
I'd love a set of these and may just pick up a set when I purchase a 12' model mustang next year. They will be my first option.
