Wheels for the track
By all means Philo, keep blathering
. Those PF01's remind me very much of the lightweight 18x9.5 TR1 Motorsports on tirerack weighing in at 18lbs each. Those outward facing spokes should clear any bbk. And the matte black chop looks great. My next wheelset will be the size/weight range I want and painted locally if required.
FWIW there is an S197 owner on another forum who is racing FN01R-C's 18x9.5 35mm offset with aftermarket brakes (not sure of brand).
He posted racing pics and has confirmed no clearance issues of any sort. I wasn't sure if posting a link to another forum was a no-no plus... For the life of me, I can't find the link now. Google with s197 or mustang and 5Zigen FN01R-C should yield a link but isn't now for some reason... ???
Philostang,
I also have a set of Stoptech's (4 caliper) and have been trying to determine clearance on various wheels. Did you ever find out if the PF01's would work with your Stoptech's?

I have been using Enkei RPF1 on track for couple months now and I am very happy with the wheels weighting 19lbs. Having 18"10" 38 offset on all for wheels 295/35 tires with no rubbing at all. I am using Stop tech 4 piston front and there is enough clearance even for bigger piston.
Hey Guys,
Sure, the FN01R-C wheels in that size clear all big brake kits. Those are the ones in the pics above.
The PF01's definitely work with the Stoptech calipers (14" rotors). I posted pics of it in another thread...how about this:

Clearance on the Brembo's is about the same as the Stoptech calipers. This isn't the best shot, but it shows the actual wheel on the car with the Stoptech's in place.

As for the RPF-1 wheels, I'd love to see pics! I had them in 18x9.5" and +45mm offset and they did not clear the Stoptech template; they were no where near clearing. I have a hard time imagining that even a +35mm offset would fit with this spoke design and in 9.5" width. Here's some shots of the interference:
At the spoke:

More troubling was that the hoop itself didn't clear. Note the contact made:

And would you believe that this gentle touch was only possible by pushing back on the template; the true interference was even greater. But if we have confirmation that they do fit with a 10" width and no spacers, I'd love to see it. I may be on the market for "rain wheels" etc... =)

ENKEI RFP1 18"10" Offset 38, No spacers. I had a little aluminium "fillers" rings made though as the bore is slightly bigger then whats on the mustang.

That looks awesome!!!
Had I known the 18x10"s would fit, I would likely have gone that route, though I do love my PF01s as well. Hmmmm, now to see if anyone wants my Rota G-force (18x9" +30mm offset)...

=)

Philostang,
I didn't realize that your pics of the FN01R-C's at the top of this thread were with aftermarket brakes. Those wheels look great on your car but I also love the PF01's. I'm driving an 08 Bullitt and with the Silverhorse louvers so your pics really give me an excellent idea of what my car would look like...Just in DHG.
Thevesh,
The RFP1's are also great looking wheels...Decisions, decisions.
The weight savings of all of these wheels is amazing at that price! I was looking at Jongbloed, BBS and forgeline to get a sub 20lb wheel in the 9.5-10" width...At a $$$$ cost...

Post #35 has a couple of small pics of the Enkei PF01's on my car

Hopefully this Sunday I'll get to try them and the NT01s out.

Hey CC, just to be clear you weren't mistaken. The pics in this particular thread were of the FN01R-C's on my car before I put the Stoptech's on. They were loaned to me from a buddy of mine running Brembo's, so I knew they'd clear the brakes I had coming. I just wanted to get a look at them and see how they appealed to me. Of course, on his car (Brembo equipped), there's tons of clearance.
And yes, I too am loving the cost of these compared to other genuinely light wheels.
