Running a 285/40/18 in the rear. Not sure how much if any wider I could go with a 9.5.

rays are solid wheels. With the right offset you could rock as big as like a 10.5 or 11 in the rear. I'm rocking 9.5s in the rear with 275s and I have 15mm ~.5" to work with on the front side and no clue how much clearance i have on the inside.

I currently looking at 295/45/18 Nitto555 tires. The tire specs say it will work on a 9.5 rim, but no smaller. Another member has these on his stang and has it also lowered, so I don't think there would be any rubbing issues. Considering Riptide is ok with his setup, I suppose mine would be no more troublesome (if I decided on the RPF1's).

I just wish those damn Axis wheels had different sizes!

that's a 1.25" taller tire than the stock diameter, just something to keep in mind.

I'm going to run a 305-35-18 rear when I get my setup, that's just a touch smaller than stock and will match the 275-40-18 front I'll be running perfectly.

A 295/45/18 is a huge tire. Not only is it 28.5" tall but keep in mind that adds extra weight vs. say a 285/40/18. Sure it's only 2-3 pounds but that's still rotating mass and multiply it 4x.

I had 295/45/18. Two positives. Good traction, lots of contact patch and sidewall. And it also filled out the fenderwell in the back equal to the stock.

But it killed some of the torque the car had, added weight, and raised the rear end further off the ground.

I got rid of mine.
