GT500 shocks
I'm being offered some GT500 shocks for free. Are they any better than the stock GT ones or should I pass? I'm currently running H&R Sport Springs with the stock shocks.
I know I should get proper shocks but I can't really afford them right now.

Well, I know they are valved different being designed for a heavier car. I currently have Steeda Sports from Sam Strano and GT500 shocks/struts. The ride is amazing, better than stock in most instances. There are some areas it's a little stiffer, but it's to small of a difference to care. What I gained in handling and ride was worth it. I really still want to know what the ride would be like on Koni Yellows, but I really don't want to sink 750.00 in shocks for a daily driven car that will never see a race track. There are places I could better invest that money in my car.
If they are free, it's worth the swap. I paid 75.00 for my shocks/struts from an eBay seller. There was a guy on the allfordmustangs forums who tested a setup with the GT500 shocks/struts and he said after riding in different cars with more expensive setups.....this combo was hard to beat for the investment. For a daily driven car (not raced ever) you can't go wrong.
are there better shocks for your car being lowered, yes..
will you pay a lot more for them, yes....
I have a goal with my car. Bang for the buck, and weight loss.
