Default 18x9, 30mm offset

We have a 2011 V6 Mustang and want to put new wheels & tires on it. The wheels my wife likes from American Muscle have a 30mm offset. Will these fit with the 255-45-18 tires? Will they stick out past the fenders? Most of what we've read here say 40-45mm offset is correct for these cars. Is anyone running a 30mm offset wheel?

"Correct" is dependent on what goal you are looking to achieve. For the goal of keeping the wheel's relation to the rest of the suspension as close to the factory geometry as possible, yes, 40-45mm is correct.

For keeping the wheel/tire combo within the wheel well, no, you can do +30mm offset with 18x9" wheels. I have them with 245/40-18 tires and about -2 deg camber. They're pretty close to flush, so a 10mm wider tire is going to extend further a tad less than 1/4". They should still look flush, but I may be benefiting from more camber than you run.

FWIW, I think they look great, and if I can find a decent pic I'll post it.

I think she'd prefer the tires stay inside the wheel openings so I think we'll stay with the 40-45mm offset. Guess we'll keep looking.

Kinda depends on the wheel width as well. 8-9'' 40 offset, 10'' 45 offset, 11'' 50mm offset etc etc. I've seen 8-9'' with 34mm offset and it was starting to push out past the fenders. 30mm would be worse. Then again some run 24mm offset and think it looks good :-).

Some folks like the look so I guess it's a preference thing.

I've got 18x9.5 +38 offset wheels coming for my GT, should fit pretty well.
