Default Dumb Question: Please Help

So I have staggered wheels (20x8.5 up front and 20x10 in the back) that I have yet to get tires for:

Here's the dumb question:
Can I run non-staggered tires on these? 255/35/20

If anyone has answers, suggestions (not to go F myself, I hope), or pics, that'd be helpful.

Its just that non-staggering the tires is like $300 cheaper, and money is always tight.

I appreciate the answers

This should be in the handling section not appearance.

To answer your question.
Every wheel can run a certain number of sizes on them.
You need to find out what size tires will fit on your wheels.

No reason you can't run the same size tire on different wheels
as LONG as the tires are within fitment range of the wheel.
Quickest way to find out?
Call the tire manufacturer or a tire shop and ask them.
"Will these size tires fit on this size wheel?"

If money is tight then you shouldn't have gone with staggered wheels/tires.

Check the tire specs for whatever tire you're looking at, specifically the rim range for that tire. The 255 should work with the 8.5" wheel but could be an issue with the 10".

I won't repeat what D'prived said but it HAD crossed my mind.

D'prived and Nuke, your comments are ignorant. Maybe money wasn't tight when he bought the rims, or maybe they were on the car when he bought it. Frankly, "go F yourself" was my thought about you 2. You are simply reenforcing the stereotypes.

One thing that is correct is that a size of tire can fit a range of wheel widths. And Tire Rack lists this information in the Specs tab of tire description. There are many ways to get to this information and here just an example:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=yes&tab=Specs
This A/S tire says it will fit a range of 8.5"-10" and at $124 isn't too expensive. There are many others, I'm sure. What you have to realize is that on a wider rim, the tire may sit a little lower, and will have a different side wall shape. It happens that this size is the cheapest 20" tire for this line and would be a good tire for what you want to do.

Well, jackals, I upgraded my tires to be 275 35 20 in the back, and 255 35 20 up front, Falken 452s.

I got a smoking deal on them, and decided to bite the bullet and do the "right" thing, rather than the cheapest thing.

The staggered set of tires, brand new cost me $549 + shipping.

Discoutn Tire is trying to charge me $225 to un-mount my stockers and pull out the TPS sensors, install them with new bands on my new 20s, then mount my new tires on my new rims, and re-mount my old tires on my old rims.......anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Discount?

Most 255/35-20's are OK on wheels anywhere from 8.5" to 10.0" wide. You'd have had both ends of the range, so it would have been technically acceptable.

Aesthetic appearance and actual fit to the car are separate matters.

As for TPMS, if most of your driving is less than about 20 miles at a time and you can stack your OE tires somewhere within range of the car's smart junction box, you can get away with leaving the TPMS off entirely - and you won't even get a warning until you go more than 20 miles. That's assuming that Ford didn't change the TPMS logic at all between 2008 and 2009. You'll just have to be more diligent about manually checking tire pressure than most people (especially those with TPMS-equipped cars) tend to be, because you have less margin for underinflation with such a short sidewall tire on such a heavy car.
