Lowering 2011 GT
Right now I am only at 1.2 degrees of negative camber and 2 would be good for me. I tend turn pretty hard on the street. I know that I should go to something like the Steeda HDs at the same time, I guess I was more concerned about the back end. I intend to get a watts link from Sam at some point when I have the cash, but I wasn't sure if using the stock PHB in the mean time was going to make the car handle worse than stock.
I'd skip the PHB while waiting for the Watts link. I did exactly that on my car, and since you've been around autocrossing you'll know what I'm getting at when I say the Shelby GT's in FS aren't stock height and all run stock PHB's... They aren't exactly dangerous.
Basically, any shock or strut that fits without having to modify something else to install or does any extra function (such as coilovers for the rear carrying the springs) is still legal for stock. So D-specs and Koni yellows are FS-legal.
The SCCA Solo rulebook can be downloaded from www.scca.com (you might have to poke around a bit, keeping in mind that the 2012 rules are due out in January).
