"Creaking" Brakes

"Creaking" Brakes
This has been going on for some time now. The best way to describe what I'm hearing is a creaking sound from the brakes of my 07 GT. The brakes are stock ford as well as the rotors.
The noise happens when the car is at a stand still. When I let pressure off the pedal, the creaking noise comes from the brakes. Keep in mind, the car is not moving. I can sit in my garage and vary the pressure on the pedal without moving the car and the noise happens.
I notice it the most when I stop and start at stop signs and such. It's pretty damn annoying and makes the car feel old.
Any ideas? Any thing I should check and grease up? I recently installed H&R springs, but the noise was present before it was lowered.

it comes from the outside of the car, not the inside? Inside it could be the brake pedal return spring or the Master Cylinder...outside..no idea. Maybe jack the car off, take the wheel(s) off and have someone press on the brake pedal while you check out the front brakes?

+1 with Derf, I would look at the brake pedal bushings & return spring first.
Then I would check the front wheel bearings. If the bearings are worn the brake caliper has to pull the rotor back to square w/ the Caliper when the brakes are applied. This can make some odd noises.
You could have a Caliper that is corroded & not fully retracting.
Then I would check the ball joints and the LCA bushings for play. The LCA bushing will creak or bang when at the end of their life, you usually hear this at low speeds.
A seized/dried up tie rod or ball joint will make some creaking, sometimes quite loudly.
