Default Brake bedding experience

For those with experience getting their brakes prepped for a track day, does anyone have good advice for bedding different pad / rotor combos?

I'm going to install HP+ pads with OEM rotors and was wondering if anyone found a good procedure for this combination? Otherwise, I'll be following the procedure in the link below:

Additionally, is it necessary to resurface the rotors prior to bedding? They've been running the OEM pads through several years of autocross and daily driving.

I just bedded Hawk HP+ with OE rotors. I used the Hawk procedure and it went smoothly.

You need to get the old pad material off your rotors before bedding. Resurfacing is the best way to do it, but you may have some success by just running the HP+ on the street for a while. The pads are aggressive enough that they'll probably scrape the old pad material away as long as you don't get them too hot. A week or so of gentle street work will probably do it.

If you bed your Hawk pads over the OE pad material, you'll almost certainly get a bad transfer and end with some serious brake judder. I've done it wrong enough times to know better!
