new tires?
Purchased a 2005 mustang gt with 20" foose wheels with toyo proxie 4's on them. The tires are starting to get worn out and I am debating between Michelin pilot super sports and nitto nt555's? Anyone have any opinions on the best tire? It is hard to find a good tire in my rear rim size of 295/35/20(fronts are 255/30/20

How much size variation will you accept? If you can live with 285-wide or 30 profile, you might have a few more options to choose from.
Normally, I would not expect anybody to cross-shop Nittos against Michelins. Exactly what sort of use/abuse are these tires going to be seeing? Be honest - the answer to that question may make the decision a bit more clear.

well i really dont want to change my wheels to find tires that will fit. i love the 295's on the rear but i can go a size up or so on the height of the tire.(profile i think its called?) This car is just my weekend driver and i dont plan on taking it to the track at all. I just want something that will perform decent on the street and look great as well.

the mich super sports are a lot of coin on tires if you don't intend to push them to their limits!
personally dislike the 555's a lot. very little wet/cold traction and hydroplane prone. many disagree with me on that though, they are an excellent dry/warm grip tire for the coin.

How big are your wheels for one (EDIT: meant width).. I run 555s, don't have any issues in Georgia rain or heat FWIW.. I think they are perfect for daily driving use with some nice traction..
Also, who did you buy your car from if you don't mind me asking since I can't PM you?

So to be honest here im not really that knowlegable about cars and I am trying to learn as much as I can. As far as what size wheels i have on my car I have no clue! ive looked on the wheels and theres no sizes on the inside of the dish that i can see. I was under the impression that becaue i have 295 size tires on the wheels that they must only accept 295 size tires? Oh and i bought the car from a guy on robins afb that works on the depot side.

You can get sizes other than 295s.. Heck, even 275s could work unless your rim width is really wide (more than 10).. I would seriously picky 275s or 285s.. If I had to name a size I would say 275/35/20 as that is what I run..
