Default SMR strut tower

I found a chrome SMR strut tower brace for $85, it was a take off of someones '07 GT/CS. Is it worth the money or should I pass it up?

If you aren't dead-set on chrome, you could grab this one from AM. $94 after their discount...

I bought this one. Very sturdy piece, love the finish.

The chrome doesn't really bother me. I was just wondering if there was a noticeable difference that was worth the purchase. Like the AM one, the one im looking at only has 2 bolt slots on each side, not the 4. Yours is pretty sweet though!

I'm sure mine is more "structurally sound" compared to the 2 bolt holes options because of the heavier mounting plates and additional cross bracing, but I don't think it really matters. It's just holding the towers in check. If your front-end experiences enough stress to compromise a brace, you must of been in an impact, lol.

That being said, I'd of rather gone with the 2 bolt. Besides being a lot cheaper (I'm doing a budget suspension build), the 2 bolt is better if you choose to install camber plates. You can remove the 2 bolt brace without losing your alignment, but with the 4 bolt brace you have to remove all the bolts which could move your camber plate...

I decided on GT500 mounts anyways, which will avoid that complication.

Pete's GT,

We sell a lot of SR Performance Strut tower braces. If you haven't bought the SMR one yet, I would check out our SR Performance version. It's really affordable, plus I always like going with painted black, since it stays looking clean for a long time. You'll be really happy wit the SR Strut towers performance and installation ease.

If you have any questions, just let me know!
