Default RCM open circuit code/steering sensor code

Hi everyone,
I had an issue last week with my 2011 GT which prompted me to go to the dealer after a few spinouts, thinking I was still covered under warranty, which unfortunatley for me I wasn't. Anyway, the tech did check a few things for me(and charged 65.00) which was fine. He told me he was seeing an open circuit fault with my RCM module, which is causing my dashboard airbag light to stay on. I did not get the actual code from him though. He told me my gear shifter was probably loose due to someone trying to fix the rcm in the past. I have only owned this car for a few months, so I'm not sure of it's history. I also get a service advancetrac error whenever I turn my steering wheel all the way to the right or to the left..everytime. This goes out after the car is shutoff, however the other day it did not go out after shutting the car off. I was also told I have a steering wheel sensor issue causing the advancetrac error.
Can anyone point me in the right direction next? Can I just buy a rcm and sensor and have my mechanic replace it and see if that helps?
Any part numbers would be great if you guys have them.
Thanks

Update. I was driving yesterday merging onto the turnpike going around a turn when my service advancetrac light came on and pulled my car all the way to the right of the road at about 60 mph. Had my mom and daughter in the car and was pretty scary for a minute till I got control of the car and pulled over. Turned the car off and on and cleared the issue. I am curios, does anyone know of any recalls due to this? There seems to be so many post's about the same problem, I would think it it has to be a known defect.
