Default Front end noise

I have a 2011 GT/CS with 37,000+ miles on it. Manual transmission and no mods other than some interior accents. On two occasions, I heard a noise from the front end. Both times, it happened when I was turning the wheel sharply while the car was not moving or maybe inching forward. Not sure if I'd describe it as a "creak" or a "pop" but it sounded as though as I was turning the wheel, pressure or resistance was put on something and it snapped back into place. Felt nothing in the steering wheel or the pedals. Drives perfectly, no noises at all when driving, turning, or pulling into or out of parking spaces.

Any one experience anything similar?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The older S197 are notorius for front-end pops from the upper strut mounts wearing, but I'm not sure if that is an issue on the newer ones. Might be something to check into.
