Does anyone have a 93 tune with the stock airbox?? Is it worth it?? maybe 30 RWHP? with the stock airbox?

I.m thinking of the SCT XCAL2??

I’m curious about this as well. How much HP increase, and is it a noticeable seat of the pants feel? Also what does the CAI do to the intake noise of the GT500? My GT500 really doesn't have any intake noise at all, just wine from the Supercharger. Will a CAI add any intake noise/roar from the engine, or will it sound the same as the stock intake box? Thanks.

 

The CAI will DEFINATLEY make noise, it may drown out the supercharger and it may not but you will hear it! Get the tune, thats what I am going to do!

 

Actually the CAI enhances thesupercharger whine and makes it louder. It doesnt have that roar like n/a motors do. Its a great sound IMO.

 

What type should I GET??

 

I am going to eventually go with Justins (vmptuning.com)c+l setup: he owns a gt500, is right in the area and he has quite a good writeup on comparing the C+L cai and JLT CAI. ...he sides with the C+L.....I will wait until the cooler months in Oct etc to get one.....good luck and let me know what you choose and the difference you feel...TJ

 

I just got my xcal3 with a 93 tune from brenspeed today. It made a pretty big difference. I noticed much better throttle response and more power (not sure how much). I am going to have to get a CAI next. I probably should have got it all together but I was curious how much of a difference there would be with just a tune. I am impressed with it.
