hi guys,

i own a shelby gt 500 and i am looking forward to upgrade my supercharger but i dont know what kit i should go for?

i dont know whether to go for kenne bell or whipple as they both have interesting stuff.

the kb generates more heat than the current sc plant that comes with the car stock that and it uses boost a pumps which I am not very fond of....
to me the best upgrade with allot of potential is the TVS upgrade from Ford...not only is it a great efficient unit ( i have seen many a gt500 with over 700 rwhp with the TVS) it is a great unit that fits great under the hood...the current available whipple (3.4) needs new motor mounts ,,however a smaller whipple is scheduled to be released for the 500 in the next month or so....however I would not want to be the first one to try it...to me you are better off with the TVS.....good luck

 

i would go w/ the whipple 3.4 just bc it's bigger.

bigger is not always better...that is one of the reasons whipple is now coming out with the more efficient 2.9 whipple for the gt500...

CHEFTJPACK:This is the second time you provide valuble information that i find useful to me, i dont know if you remember the first time you reply to me, anyways, i cant get kenne bell cuz they dont ship outside the u.s. i was going for the mamooth stage 3 kit.

i checked with whipple, the 3.4l is too big, and like you said its not about size. i thought about the 2.9l but again like you said its only coming out in 30-60days.

my questions are:
why all these kits come without a cooler?
why does whipple sell the supercharger+throttle body only? (no tuner,cooler,intake)
if i go for tvs, how can i get it?

oh it is about size, my friend. size equals displacement equals power. case in point: whipple 3.4. lethal explains it better with it's 725 rwhp whipple package
