2010 GT500 vs 2009 GT500KR
I definitely want one of these two but am having some difficulty identifying the significant differences between them - especially since to 2010 has the power upgrade.
Can someone help enlighten me?
Thanks

My guess it the powerplant from the KR is carried over into the 2010 GT500 with some tweaks here and there. The majority of the 2010 GT500 would be a carry over from the current GT500 edition. The body styling itself is the major change. The KR is an whole new setup (suspension, exhaust, etc) really is specialized just for that car so not much would be the same between the the new GT500 and the current KR

Thanks!
The only hard data I've found is rear end ratio's. 2009 KR is 3.73 and 2010 is 3.55.
I'm guessing the 50K is going to be very difficult to justify on a performance basis. And while I like the 09 hood and silver/blue stripes (apparently not a 2010 option), I don't think I 50K like it...

Well you could always try contacting a ford tech on the issue, not one of the run of the mill dealership guys but actually talk to one that knows his stuff. Because if you buy the 2010 GT500 and could have afforded the Current KR that gives you 50,000 to invest in making that car you're own, Suspension, engine, brakes..... but if you want that KR badge as they are rare, then get the KR. Power is comparable (don't quote me) i think i remember seeing that the KR is like 540 HP and the GT 500 is well 500 HP so not a big determining factor. But the KR has a mean road race suspension setup and the look with side exhaust and a very limited production. also the KR seems to me to be more of your collectors line of car where the GT 500 is more the dailey driver veriety.

its truly apples vs oranges.
performance wise is the 30-40k difference acceptable (price based on some dealers are selling KRs for 69-79k...just have to find them)
if you are looking at it simply based on perfromance then I guess get the 2010 gt500 and do what you want with it,.
now apples to oranges based on also its 2 different body styles....
apples vs argument part 3 is due to:
the 2010 gt500 will be a limited production number, however NOT as limited as the KR
the added $$ on the KR has allot to do with its exclusivity. I believe less than 1200 produced in 2008 and 2009 is supposed to be even less. so that is the other reason for the increased price. if it is worth it or not depends allot on what you think VALUES a car to YOU.
so I dont think anyone here can tell you if it is worth it to you more than you can? its 2 different cars so to compare them is unfair. good luck.....
