You know you want to come to the dark side of the GT500, you will never return.

Seems like you're really into customizing your rides, OP. So stick with what you have and keep building from there.

Well I'm finding myself in the same boat however I don't currently have a stang as I got rid of my 08 gt vert back in april.

I would do one of two things if your going to have to go with boost.
1. keep your current ride and do it up the way you want.
2. used gt500.

the cons of taking a stock gt and modding it to the hilt is that you have such a huge loss on your investment should you chose to sell. Your either going to lose a lot of money selling the mods (as well as time/labor removing everything) or....

if you chose to sell the car as it's modded then your really going to shrink the group of people you can sell your car to.

However, if you go the route of the gt500 and can keep the mods to a minimum you will have a car that not only has much better resale but will have the serformance your looking for without having to do any strong modifications.

I wouldn't even consider going with a 5.0 if you are going to throw a bunch of money at it after purchase.

** Nice pics Reaper!!**

To be honest (and that's hard to do sometimes) I'm pretty sure what I "want" on a realistic level.

I want my car to LOOK good (who doesn't, right?)
I want a reasonable amount of performance that is noticeable in "real world" situations. What I mean is, I DON'T care what my 1/4 mile is, but I DO want to be able to hit the on ramps with style and pass on the left like a guy who means it! I don't really care if a car can do 180mph, because I'll rarely hit 105 (and even a stock stang can do that)
I want my car to "sound" tough. When I hit that on ramp and merge into traffic at 80mph, I want the guy behind me to say "wow"

Bottom line: I want the body and styling of a GT500 or well-styled GT and I want performance that is just moderately over stock (350-399 hp is fine)

So: Body Kit, paint, interior-exterior styling, Exhaust, CAI + tune, nice wheels and tires. That should about do me.

That might make me (by many of your standards) a "poser".... so be it, yup, that's me!!!! All looks, sound and attitude, but nothing really under the hood. LOL

I dont think it makes you a poser at all. These cars are about making them your own and being able to express yourself. Sure some people slap on turbos and superchargers because that makes them happy. Does it make the car more fun? Sure, and for the investment they put into it, it better. But that is not to say that if your car is not forced induction or totally tuned that it still cant be a great car. I have heard some amazing sounding mustangs with nothing more than an exhaust on them, just do what makes you happy. The stock gt comes with plenty of power from the factory, I mean even my car is plenty fast for me, I absolutely enjoy my car everyday.
