I own a 2007 Shelby GT 500, and wanted to change my stripe color, where can I purchase a set of OEM factory Shelby Stripe set? I don't really want the aftermarket set. I have looked everywhere online and cant find them. I am sure someone has had to order stripes on a stripe delete car or had an accident and needed strips! Please be so kind to tell me where I can obtain an OEM set and the cost. Thanks in advance.

 

The oem gt500 stripe set will run you close to $1,700 complete ... Tousleyford.com has the best deal on these parts.. Please Also make sure you have someone who 100% sure knows how to install these VERY expensive and brittle stripes... Good luck

 

$1700. Gad zooks! There must be decent after market stripe sets available! I got a '08 stripe set installed on a car for $500. complete in '08... & it looked identical to the cars with stripes from the factory! They have lots of guys who go to body shops & replace stripes at reasonable prices! Anything from a dealership is going to be way over priced! It seems like there ought to be a way to find out who makes them for Ford!

Example: I restore early Corvettes & was paying big money for OEM mufflers until I found out the same muffler came on a GMC 6 cylinder pickups for about 30% the Corvette price! Another very, very, very expensive part was found on GMC diesel cabs in junk yards for a couple bucks!

 

I had the stripes added to my SVT GT500. Of course this option is not available from the factory. I thought the stripes that came with the GT500 didn't look as good as the non SVT edition. When I asked my local dealer to add them once I took possession of the vehicle they told me they couldn't order them. I guess you have to send the VIN with the order and they will see that's not an option. I had them order the stripes with a Regular Mustang GT vin and we got them in. Because my first car had a paint flaw they did the stripes for free. It took them 2 full days to put them on.
