Active exhaust

Active exhaust
Hey all. Just got a 2019 GT with the performance pack. Former owner put long tube headers, high flow cats, x-pipe, and Roush axle back quad tips / resonators. I LOVE the sound, but the neighbors are starting to complain about how loud it is. This mustang didn’t have the active exhaust package originally - do you guys have ideas of what I could do to make it quiet(er) through the neighborhood but let me open it up on the roads? Is there an active exhaust setup I could add aftermarket? Thanks!

Not aware of an active exhaust for a 2019. The performance mods you have are what every performance minded owner would do to his Mustang. Are you sure it has resonators? The X pipe normally does away with that. Resonators would tone it down a little.

Is this not a resonator?
I thought what I circled here was a resonator? Maybe not.
Also, what does anyone think about this? Would it *actually* work?

That's the muffler which is why it's so loud. The resonators would be located where the x-pipe is. You could have a muffler shop cut out the x pipe and install resonators in their place and sell the x-pipe. The resonators reduce the droning effect and bark of the exhaust.

Interesting
I started with an exhaust shop and they replaced the xpipe with a dual in dual out muffler (he said) and it was so muted it sounded like a v6 so I had them revert it lol
has anyone heard of that other kit and if it works at all?

If it was a single muffler instead of two round looking mufflers that look like the old glass packs, then no wonder it was so quiet. The key to making your system sound better is to replace it entirely with another performance exhaust system which probably won't solve your problem or find a muffler shop that knows what a resonator looks like. The high flow cats are also very loud, you could replace them with OEM but they are really expensive. Everything about your exhaust system screams loud and more horsepower/performance. Most people on here would kill for that setup.
