Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some background on the saleens that are out there with the extreme rainbow paint? I was just wondering how rare these cars are, also how much will they be worth 2,3,5,10 years down the road. Thanks for the input.

What your thinking of is mystic paint. Changes colors as you look at it from different angles. Its really cool, my friend has a mystic cobra. I wouldnt say its super rare, but its definitally very expensive.

i think there is a different paint called extreme rainbow. Did you see the saleen on ebay? I dont belive its the same as mystic.

I think there are 7 "Extreme" paint Saleens (off the top of my head) 1 SR, 1 S351, 1 97 Cobra, 1 2003 Cobra, 3 S281 Saleens.

Correct. BASF made the S351 car in 1995 (95-10) as their "test car", and the paint job was @$16k on that car. Ford used a much less complicated (about 10 less colors) for their 1996 Mystic Cobra.

The newer Extreme Rainbow paint jobs look like the picture I posted above.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am looking at buying one right now. I was just wondering if they are going to increase in value a lot down the road? Like 2,3,5 or even 10 years down the road?

At best it might hold it's value, but I don't anticipate it will appreciate.

You never know. Look at some prices some cars fetch for being a rare build or rare color and I'm not only talking about Shelby's. I would think that more and more Saleen Mustangs are wrecked and or lost or destroyed, the rare colors gain the most interest later on and the most money. When someone gets it in their head that they want an Extreme Rainbow Saleen and there were less than a dozen total built???? The sky's the limit.
