How are saleens tunes on a N/A S281? I have a 2002 S281 N/A and its said to be at 290HP. Can a better tune push more out of the N/A or have I hit the potential of the engine without mods? I thought that 30 HP more out of a stock GT engine was a pretty good tune. But if I can get more, that would be great.

First of all, the Saleen powerflash calibration is fairly conservative. Their powerflash system used to be more aggressive, until California started selling 91 octane super across the board. At that point Saleen backed off on the program, and made it pretty conservative. A better tune can certainly net you more rwhp, especially if you can run 93 or 94 octane gas. The fuel curve can be trimmed to net a few more horses, but the biggie is the timing. If you can run 93+ octane, you can get quite a bit more aggressive with the timing, which in turn will net you substantial hp gains. With a n/a car, you can get pretty aggressive with the timing. So, I would say a lot more is there if you wanted it.
