I know at least two dealerships in L.A. that will sell you a GT500 for MSRP -- South Bay Ford and Galpin Ford. I think MSRP for the coupe is $44k and $49k for the vert.

I ran a "completed auctions" search on Ebay recently and found several that sold right at MSRP (and even one below MSRP).

However, from what I haev read the 500 does not give you the "slam you back in your seat" that the Saleen does...right?

I would hope you heard wrong as it's running a blown 4V 5.4L under the hoodie. Maybe that is why so many are either for sale, used, or still on the dealer lot (asside from high mark-up)

Sure wish I had that engine in my Saleen.....Too bad the car really does not do much for me in the looks category. Looks too similar to a regualr GT I think.

My local dealer is selling them at sticker price and they are not moving. The new Challenger,Camaro, Pontiac g8, SRT-8 are taking alot of the market away from the Shelby too.

Galpin won't do MRSP. $5k over is their best. They want MSRP for the USED ones...Dream on...

Danam, who is your local dealer??

Wrong. If a supercharged 5.4 doesn't then I don't know what does. It's just the Shelby has a boost limiter for the first 500 miles(i think it's 500) so when people first drive a new one they are expecting alot more and get a lot less. The dealer probably forgets to mention that fact [&:]

Galpin Ford in L.A. will sell you a GT500 for MSRP. You have to deal them down, but they'll do it.

Actually, I just noticed your profile says you are located in Alabama, not in Los Angeles. So maybe you're referring to Galpin's list/asking price (i.e., their starting price), rather than their bottom-line deal? Or did you end up visiting their showroom out here? Just wondering if we're talking about two different things (i.e., bottom line, out-the-door price versus their window-sticker price).

Just as an example, here's a brand new '08 that sold for MSRP recently on Ebay:

If you do some legwork, you will find a deal.
