I've been doing some homework on comparing the 2 and looking for some advice. Am I better off going with the 281E or getting the S3 and doing some mods to it. I personally prefer the looks of the Roush but the performance of the Saleen. Looks like they're forcasting 500hp for the Saleen and 400 for the S3, with a slightly bigger price tag on the Saleen. Why can't Roush put some extra juice uner the hood and make everyone happy?

 

I thought the 06 E was going to be at 550HP? Personally I would go with the E. Even though it has a bigger price tag I still think it is a pretty big bang for the buck!

 

Yes, the 06 S281E will be rated at 550 hp. Realize you are comparing apples to oranges here. The stage III Roush is essentially identical to the S281sc. The S281E is a whole different animal. With an all aluminum, all forged motor, a 6 speed T56, and a bunch of other stuff, the E car is in a different league than the Roush. Hence the 'different league' price.
