Removing 2001 Mustang Gt emblem
Hello Stang Lovers. Are there guiding hole pins on the back of the 2001 Mustang GT side fender emblems or just 3M adhesive tape? And what is the safest way to remove the emblems? I heard 6 lb fishing line or dental floss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You likely will have a hole at the center of where the fender emblem was.
This '94 has a hole.
This replacement for a '99 (35th anniversary badge) also has a peg or ??? that would go into a 'hole' in the fender:

Yes, there is a hole behind it. I used a plastic body filler ("bondo") spreader as a scraper to get under the emblem and pop it off. Follow up with a little elbow grease and some acetone on a rag to remove the remaining adhesive.

Dribbling some acetone / Goof-off behind the emblem down onto the tape to soften it up speed the process up considerably. Coupled with the Bondo spreader, removal was easy.
