Okay so I have a 87 notch 5 speed and a 91 hatch AOD. I dont want the hatch. So I was going to salvage what I could off of it and revitalize the 87. But I have been thinking of swapping motors. I would hate to do it, because I love a challenge with the SD. Would it be better to swap? If so can I just swap motors since one is AOD and the other is a 5 speed? I know I have to swap wiring and ecu too. Is this more trouble than the benefits? Please let me know what you think.

So I can keep it speed density. I just thought the swap would be better for the juice since the 91 has forged pistons. It doesn't matter that one is 5 speed and the other is AOD? How do I keep it speed density?

just run the wireing to the necesary sensors it should be close to the same all you are really doing is loseing the mass air meter , and yeah you can swap an engine that aod to a 5 spd ,you will just have to swap the flex plate from the aod out with the fly wheel from the 5spd , not a bad swap to do .

Thank you for you help. If i do this swap I am going to get H/C/I since I will have the motor out of the car. I wont pull a motor and not upgrade that is just a waste of time for me. Dimebag you told me on another post to check out the comp cam xe270. You also said its at the limits of sd. I als saw the the xe264 with less duration. Is this the step down from the xe270? What cam is a little less risky than the xe270 that i could run?

the stock sd cam has a .444 lift and is at 114 degrees seperate , good thinkin nitrousd85 that one slipped by. the answere to thecam q is the xe264hr (part#35-349-8 through comp cams) features 264 duration .512 lift and works verywell with sd and no map work needed to run it ,and still run spray on it .

no problem i took the advice from dimebag did the research and thenhe told me about the map work he had to do so i looked at the other options and decided to go with the xe264hr on mine ,you will how ever up grade the valve springs and retainers and stuff though, the springs recomended for the f303 cam will work and are a single spring so no mods to the head for them to fit like a double spring , but if you want to go with a double spring the 986 comp springs will do it , but the spring seat has to modified for them
