Default 8.8 and dualies in a 83 GT

I want to put a 8.8 and a 86-93 style dual exhaust into a 83 Mustang GT that I'm buying, is it a direct swap?

I used to have a 79 302 coupe, but when I went to put on the ford NOS 86 muffler hangers there was a brake block(?) where the hanger was supposed to go.

Would that happen on the GT too?

Not exactly, the 7.5 has a different brake line set up. You will have to bend a new line for the 8.8. You will need to get a duel exhaust crossmember also for where the exhaust runs under the transmission.

Thats because exhaust shops do trash *** work. I have never seen a exhaust shop do a quality job if they had to bend their own tube.

Do it right. Get a double hump crossmember, the passenger side hangers (muffler and tail pipe) and have at it. You can use the dual on a 7.5 but you have to unbolt the soft line and tie it off to the side so you don't hit it. It has to be unbolted anyway since it is bolted to where the muffler bracket is supposed to be.

But like someone already said to use the 8.8 you will need to run a new length of line toward the center of the rear end so you can use the 8.8's brake line.

Sorry your custom exhaust shops suck where you live. Do not speak bad for them all because you had sh**y luck. I have had numerous vehicles done with no problems. And also on some vehicles you do not have a choice but to get it done custom.

I don't personally use exhaust shops. I do my own exhaust work.

It's like everything in life you pay for. You got some people that are good and others that suck.
