350z?

You have an auto? I've been told that auto Mustangs are noticably slower than manuals. A manual 350Z is definitely a 13 second car. If he can drive it should be a good race, but I will give you the edge due to torque and horsepower.

You have about 40lb-ft more torque and 23 hp more than him (the track editions have 300hp). He also weighs close to 250 lbs lighter than you. I still think that you have more of an advantage than him. From a dig you should have the edge. I have the G35 and because of IRS it's hard to launch them. From a roll I surmise that it would be closer. In the end you should win although it'd be closer than people think.

I don't know about them being a 13 sec car. The fastest I have ever seen 1 run is 14.3@96 with a 2.0 60ft. They only dyno in the 240 range with the manual. I beat one bad from a roll in my 04 GT auto. It ran 13.8@101 with my mods. I put at least 3 cars on the one I ran with that car. An auto mach runs at least 13.80s.

Stock for stock 350Zs are fair game for a 99-04 GT...
I wonder just how many times I've said that.
06 350Z weights:
350/Enthusiast/Tour/Track/Grand
Manual transmission 3,339 3,346 3,400 3,370 3,404
Automatic transmission N/A 3,344 3,380 N/A 3,391
Weight distribution 53/47 53/47 53/47 53/47 53/47
MT equipped cars make 300/260 hp/tq
AT equipped cars make 287/274 hp/tq
Just keep in mind that the Tour/Track/Grand models will outhandle the living hell out of any 99-05 GT... that's the main reason the car is built with a near perfect 53/47 weight distribution.

The 350Z has been driven to solid 13 ETs, it's been documented. How fast is an auto Mach 1? How much will a cold air intake and tune help? I still believe the Mach should prevail, but if the 350Z driver knows what he's doing then it shouldn't be a cakewalk.
