Yea, those RX-8's are really perty........unfortunately they aren't very muscular. You'll have no troubles, even unmodded.

They weren't exactly built as a drag car with all 150LB-FT or torque... However, they beat 350Z's around a track and would probably be a close match for a non Z06 Vette'. At the strip it is probably a low-mid 14 sec car....
Wouldnt that make it hard for a stock GT to blow the doors off one

It's not even close to a low 14 second car at the strip... They are fast once they hit like 7grand on the tach, but that's it... I had a friend that stole a auto rx8 and my other friend beat him from BEHIND, in his gf's 02 V6 that had a computer chip - and he beat him BAD... I think the 6spd rx8s are fair game to a 05-06 V6 Mustang... They handle awesome though... Your car stock will take him easily... which your car really is, the only real mod it has on it is the Intake, and the MAF which I heard does nothing for your car unless you have 400+ RWHP... you should take him though...

They've been rumored to be coming out with a supercharged version I think... like they did with the Miata... That car would be damn nice with 300+hp...

+1 on that. Everytime I see one on the road it just seems like it would be such a fast car, but it's not really. I mean, the RX-8 is not exactly a porker either, but they're just not something that will run alongside mustangs, fbodies, srt-4s, or S2000's in anything but heavily modded form.

I fyou ever get the chance to drive an RX8 just go ahead and shoot yourself they are awful. If anyone here has one no disrespect but they are slower than smoke off a 3 day old pile of dog poo. I work at a dealership so i get opportunities to drive alot of different cars and this has to be the slowest sports car I have driven in a while. You should have no problem tearing it to pieces JMO.

what you guys are failing to remember is that the RX-8 isn't built for drag racing. It has an almost perfect weight distribution though and is great around a road course. You give that thing curves and you're toast. It isn't always about the 1/4 mile.
