Don't kid yourself...I've had both. It'd cost twice as much money to make an LT1 do what an LS1 will do.

It would even out for the price in buying the LS1. They're both great motors and I'd love to own an LS1, but I'm currently too poor. And besides, for about $2k I can take a stock LT1 and have it pushing 400rwhp. A mild cam and ported heads, thanks ot Lloyd Elliot. I can see the LS1s surprised faces when I roll up in a measly LT1 still packing the sawblade rims...

I'm guessing you know something I don't know about them then. 400rwhp is a ton in an LT1 on motor. You can damn near buy an LS1 for the same price as an LT1 nowadays....if you're still looking for one, I have one for sale.

Lloyd Elliot (I lost his website URL, gotta find it) will port and polish your heads and send you a cam and with a full exhaust, intake, throttle body, upgraded injectors, and a tune, you're guaranteed 370rwhp. That's for $1100. Throw in some more bolt-ons and you should have damn near 400rwhp. Cheap. The LS1 is a better motor but people hate on the LT1 too much.

I'd love to buy your car, but 1) it's probably outside my price range, and 2) my next vehicle has to be mostly stock. I did see somewhere that you were in NC, and I am too, on the East Coast, near Greenville, if you know where that is.

wow guys that are denying this fact, i know the guy ( he is a friend of mine) and will video the race if u dont believe the facts. actually talked to a guy tonight that owns a 99ws6 6 spd and the camaro that i ran beat him, from a roll.
and i beleive i posted in my story that i do not have the converter installed yet. will be going in in the next few weeks.
i did not beat him by much, if he did not have 2.73 gears it would be damn near an equal race, with him winning if anything.
i actually dont even have every bolt on, but damn near.

to the arguement between ssteele and 98ls1 , the ls1 is better. BUT, after doing haeds and cam and everyhting else its goin to equal out, and might even be cheaper with the lt1 due to parts being cheaper. but the ls1 has more potential with stock motor.

LOL try going to camaroz28.com or z28.com and see just how hard it is to make 400rwhp on a LT1, LOLOLOLOL no hard at all, and obviously u have NO clue what your talking about because LT1 parts are alot cheaper than LS1 parts.... if u have had both obviously u didnt buy many parts for either

not to take ne credit from the LS1, i LOVE them

What a bunch of bull****.

Your trying to say a LT1 that dynoed at 267WHP is pulling on LS1's.

The LS1 could have 2.43 and still pull on you from a roll, now I know your full of ****!

You only dynoed 267rwhp? WTF? That's what a stock, healthy LT1 should dyno. Tune that baby or something. That would not be enough power to pull on an LS1. Even with 2.73s (which should probably help the pull up top past 110) he still has a solid 30rwhp more than you, stock.

Anybody know what a stock LT1 Z28 with an auto and 2.73 gears would run in the 1/4 mile? Just curious.
