Default lt1 vs ls1

ran an ls1 last night. i ran this guy last year and it was always back and forth. anyway only thing differnet from then and now is i took my catback off and only running y-pipe (put a dynomax muffler on it just a lil while ago, so it is alot quieter now)
so we head to the interstate, 3 honks from 20. he gets a lil jump and i pass him immediately and put a car on him up to 75, at that time i hit 3rd gear and he starts catching up. @100 i start getting back in powerband and add a car or so up to 115.
yet he does have 2.73's, so that is y he would gain when i would shift and vice versa. only mods he has is cut out and lid/smooth bellow. also an auto
p.s. the 3200 converter is not installed yet( its in the closet) and i was not spraying

this was the first time i got to test out the MT drag radials, and they are 10 X's better then the nittos i had on there b4.

He has the same setup and mods that I do, and I trap 106. Good kill.

thats good to hear tommy. this kid ( well he is 28) is scared of the track! well never done it b4 and he is making it out to be a big deal. scared he is screw up and look like a fool, which is not the case.
i was trapping 103-104 in fl with a few less mods, up here i am only trapping 101-102. but then again, the runs up here were without a converter.
thanks again guys

So do your bolt-on's include a cam?

If not the LS1 must have been a pooch.

Now, you bozos are giving the LS1s TOO much credit. He has all the bolt-ons and a frickin' STALL. Those bolt-ons probably put him in the 310rwhp+ range. The LS1 is a more advanced motor, and for the most part a better motor, but it's not that much better. An LT1 with full exhaust, CAI, and a tune can outpace a stock LS1. The fastest LS1 and LT1 are less than .1 second different in ETs. And a blown LT1 would tear just about anybody up. Do not underestimate the LT1. Do not.
