Same thing can be said about the Corvettes really...

Besides the engine/suspension...the rest of the car is fairly dissapointing. The interior materials and build quality is downright horrible for starters...

But, it gets the job done and there aren't many other choices on the domestic side.

To he honest if the the trans am or camaro was still in production I would probably have gotten one over my '06 gt, but I wanted a brand new car. The one thing I don't like about the LS1 is the exhaust note, I have heard many of them and they sound pretty bad, the 4.6 and 5.0 mustangs sound 800 times better but that is just my opinion

The Mustangs exhaust note is by far the best in history ever!!! IMO!

I would take a nice Mustang exhaust anyday over any Camaro exhaust

 

You won't find many who will disagree... Hell my car doesn't even have an exhaust note...thing is so damn quiet, even WOT you hear the rattling of the engine over the exhaust. [8D]

 

lol. LT1's are said to have a better sound than LS1's. If that's true, then [:'(]@ the sound of LS1's. And I know what you mean about hearing engine noise over exhaust. Even with headers and no cat, I don't hear my exhaust at WOT, unless the cutout's open. Hopefully a replacement Blowmaster 80 series will give me a little better exhaust note.Once I get the Pacesetter LT's, or x-pipe, and Flowmaster super 40's or 44's, I might be able to finally hear my exhaust and not want to puke. lol

 

you just need to have a 3 1/2 " custom built mandrel exhaust put on and the ls1. itwill sound just as mean or meaner than a stang's does... when i had mine built there were terminator guy's in there when they started my 04 gto up and they stated that it sounded better than there's. all i am saying is that all you have to do is have the right exhaust built for the ls1 and it will sound awsome. i also have pacesetter long tubes.

 

GMMG makes the ls1 sound awesome

 

Longtubes with bullets coming off the collectors + .6xx lift cam = winnAr.

 

I think the mustang with just exhaust vs the ls1 with must exhaust sounds better. As far as the built motorvs built motor the ls1 wins hands down
