launching?
if you rear tires can stick good here is what you do.
put your foot firmly on the brake, while the car is in neutral. rev it to 2000 while pressing on the brake pedal. you should feel it going further to the floor. (due to vacuum)
put it in drive and slowly give it gas until you feel the tires start to spin. back off the gas until they stop.
hammer the gas and release the brake at the same time.
this works alot better with an aftermarket converter since you can launch at much higher rpms.

somebody should make a sticky on this if its not already done, and include techniques on launching a manual.
i found a pretty good technique for launching my car, 05 mustang GT 5 speed manual. rev it to 3 grand, have your right foot also holding the brake, and let the clutch come up to the point right before it really engages. to launch, obviously let your foot off the brake, dump the clutch and apply about 2/3 throttle.. you can't let off the clutch too quickly as you will spin a bit, but if you let it off too slowly you'll get a frustratingly slow launch. it takes a bit of work to get down right. i find that if you go 2/3 throttle and as it hits 3k you let off the clutch, it responds better and there is less of a chance of bogging down than just holding part throttle at 3k rpm. maybe its just me, but my theory is that it could be the new mustang's drive by wire throttle system, as it is programmed not to snap the throttle blade open quickly, so if you start this process earlier, you will get the throttle open quicker and have less of a chance of bogging down. on a perfect launch, the car will squat and basically kick you in the ***. you'll know when u get it right. keep trying more and more aggressive launches until you spin, and then you know when your breaking point is. good luck!
