I have the mods listed below...my friend bought a brand new Neon SRT4. He came up to me with a smile on his face when he broke me the news, then asked if I wanted to race. He doesn't know my setup, but he told me he was buying a $15 mod from Advance Auto Parts (a wastegate or something?) to make his car run faster.

Anyway, we're both going to the track not too far from now. I'm running 13.8's-13.9's now. Who's gonna win? Should I ice my intake and all that good stuff? He had an old automatic Neon from before that he's taken to the track before...that's not experience to me, but I don't wanna underestimate his driving skills.

 

well this isn't fanasty racing just go do it...put a 50 bucks on the race

 

Close to call....he's probably getting a greiger valve and some vacume hose to up the boost.....

The SRT4 runs what, 1/10 slower than the 4.6 GT? Slight edge to you if you don't **** up....as the SRT4 has to be driven perfectly to get the lowest E/T publishted

 

I watched a 98-02 GT get spanked by a Neon, no it wasnt the SRT4. it was a normal Neon with a wing and ricer crap on it. He was talking to a kid who was bragging about a 10.4 in the 1/8th. So do the math, but still go kick his bootay..... especially if you are really in the 13's

 

you can win if you can drive good! My freind just raced one today and lost by about 5 feet and he has a 96 5 speed that only has a k&n. Then i asked him if he wanted to race me in my girlfriends 2000 gt 5 speed and he wouldent and yes like jeep said they have too be driven perfect... So go kick some neon but!!!

 

Good God! why would one brag about a 10.4 in the 1/8th? I saw a guy with a neon drag car run a 6.80 in the 1/8th but it was a coverted 4-banger to a 360 ci w rwd. and lots of juice

 

a guy i know clicked off 13.9's bone stock in his srt-4. he bought a boost controller and LOWERED the boost in first gear to get more traction and ran 13.5. look the "F" out.
