another lt1 kill

LT1's are slow...they're nothing compared to LS1's...and even those aren't impressive.

which car is running in the 9s?
which car is running in the 9s?
But yes, I apoligize for missing his latter post. Didn't see that one. But to get a LSx car in place of a Cobra that's already running 10's??? No WAY! Keep what ya got and work it in to the s/d's
so, when the Z looked like it does in that picture, it wasnt in the 9s, right? its a small picture, but i dont see a cage or anything..
and no offense, but i think that im more impressed with the impala! thats is one quick, big *** sedan!
i didnt know that you were overseas, and im pretty sure that no one will hold that against you...[sm=americanasmiley.gif]

I'm not buying half the posts in this thread without a video to back it up. I can show anyone's timeslip.
Come on, am I one of the only 10 people on this website who really races???? Please go to a track and see what a 9 and 10 second car looks like before you start trying to pass your family wagons off as race cars. And regs don't get crazy cause I'm certainly not pontiac/chevy bashing (especially since my 9 sec bracket car is a 64' Nova) but look at the pics these guys are giving of these cars. I have seen an 8 second new style camero with a 502 fogger in it but the guy did John Force burnouts with it and you knew it was bad instantly - he wasn't hiding anything from nobody.
I'm really curious to see an LT1 with some cam work and a 125 shot run 9's - B.S.!!!!! Seems this section is the bench racing hall of fame internet championships.... 99% of the posts are, 'what if' and 'wow, I spanked a ferrarri F40 in my 85 notch last night....' [sm=bs.gif]
I appologize to all if these guys have been talking about their 9 and 10 second cars in the 1/8 MILE - yeah - that's probably what they meant...

chevykiller,
he did say that the plain looking picture of his camaro was old, and i thought that it was an LS1 car?
ive seen some pretty plain looking LS1 cars get into the 10s...and the same goes for mustangs. i dont have a 9 second car, but ive spent alot of time at the track, so ive been around.

But I hate bench racing as much as the next guy. That's why I just bought a new rearend. I guess I'll just have to show people. Why these other fast guys don't have digital video cameras is beyond me.

A cam/nitrous LS1, as above posted, is good for 130+mph. It's all in the weight reduction/suspension to tell weather or not it goes single digits. My car, full weight, will not go single digits on a cam/nitrous setup. My car, light weight, on a cam/nitrous setup, will. I've seen Jugernaut go mid 9's @ 139mph with a lightweight LS1 car with just a cam/nitrous setup. It's not very hard.

EDIT - and BTW - we were not talking broadly about a nitrous set-up with an over 150 shot. We were talking specifically about a 125 shot and cams only. I'd really like to see that (single digits) with everything else stock...
well, since you don't seem to know, it IS an LS1 car, and yes there is currently a cage in it, 10 pt, w/ a 12 bolt, 4.11 rear, TH350, 4500stall, etc, etc. The pic is over a year old, the emblems are off and I used to claim it as a sleeper till the cage went in cause I kept getting booted off the tracks when I broke into the 10's.
Cam-only LS1 cars can hit high 10's. If the cam is nitrous friendly, I don't see why 9's would be so hard to believe. I don't know anyone who's done it, but I know a guy with a high 10 second cam-only car who is contemplating using the bottle.
By cam-only I mean that the only engine modification is a cam swap. Not modding any other part of the car (especially the exhaust) just isn't realistic, it wouldn't work too well.

He made 1 run and kabloowee on the 2nd. The only stock internal cars I ever seen run single digits are 03/04 Cobras and Supras, oh and a few GN's
