LT1's are slow...they're nothing compared to LS1's...and even those aren't impressive.

LS1's are also slow, stock. They're really easy to make go fast though, that's why I've thought of getting one. My Cobra was easy to get into the 11's, but it took an act of God to get it in the 10's. Not so with an LS1 car.
