Roll races
since i know a thing or two about dodges, i have seen a few kenne bell RT dakotas. the thing is, the "RT" isnt that much of a step up from a base model. ive seen a 5.9L, non-RT, short bed, short cab, with bolts ons, and on the bottle, he was in the very low 13s/high 12s running something like a 50 shot. also, ive seen a couple blown RTs in the 11s..so they are very accepting of mods.
but, an RT with some very simple mods will run with a stock new edge GT, so it would be a good race.

well, it looks like reported times for a short bed, regular cab, is around 14.8..on dragtimes, i found where a guy ran 14.85, and he lists everything as stock, and he lists 3.90 gears, but im not sure if that was an aftermarket upgrade, or a factory option.
Ive seen a guy with headers, ecu, tb, catback, some trans work (stock tc), and good tires run in the high 13s...ive driven one with some work done, rockers and such, as well as the basic bolt ons, and it was pretty quick, but it didnt have much for traction, and this guy had some big tires under it.

I'll have ot see if I can find the pics of the aftermath.. I was at the track about 2 years ago when someone had a shortbed modded dakota, not sure what exactly the motor was.. it was a dodge engine, but not something out of the dakota originaly.. Guy was running steady 9's int he quarter all night... only time I have ever actualy seen a truck pull the front wheels... and on his final run of hte night he blew his radiator hose.... It looked like hte car he was racing went under him while he was in the air.. it was an aweseme wreck, but i felt bad for hte guy.... I know it was a TT with nitrous... big nitrous kit.. his purge was freaking HUGE before every race. It was an older dakota.. early 90's/late 80's.. before they changed the body style.
I got smoked in my fox by a guy in an S-10 who had dropped an LS1 out of a TA into it.. guy said he was running 12's.. and as bad as he left me I believe it.

there are alot of guys running the old NHRA pro-stock dakotas...and theyre mostly in the 7s, but keep in mind, those dakotas are just chassis cars with some sheet metal made to look like a dakota.
in the pittsburgh area there is a guy with a white s10 blazer, and he has a boosted LS1 in it, and while it looks fairly stock, it runs in the low 10s..

correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the newer dodge R/T's had a 5.9 in them

Hey a 5.7 litre enigne with a S/C isn't anything to turn you back on.
