Brilliant... and incorrect.
VTEC won't engage without load, so there's no point to revving past 5500 (or wherever it engages at).
A mild 3-3.5k launch will net these cars very low 14s. It's been done.
00-04 S2k's have a 9000 rpm redline, 05+ have an 8000 rpm redline.
I never said anything about VTEC (not like you'd have to spool it anyway), besides that just what the s2k guys said, I've never driven one in my life. 8000 might have been exaggerating, but 6-7 sounds more like their approach to launching, they said much lower and it would bog down.
Besides, I'm AWD so I don't really worry about it that much[&:]
