law of deminshing return.
WTF is the law of Deminishing Return? Never heard of it. I've done a few reports on Einstien's laws of duality, and some college experts are actually trying to prove Murphy's Law, Too bad they cant. I'm gonna go Wiki this "law" real quick-like, I'm intrigued, haha[8D]
you're in college and never heard of the law of diminishing returns[&:] well in a racing context it would be something like .....add 100hp to a 15 sec car and you drop a full second: add 100hp to a 10 sec car and you drop a tenth....just as an example

Look at it this way: Very few magazines can drive that well and they convert all times to SAE net. If you ever want to know what the cars they have are capable of, then just look at the trap speed, and it will be low. All of those cars had too much power. The Mustang GT had 900+rwtq. All of them had in excess of 600rwhp, excluding the Z06. I bet a cammed and bolt-on Z06 with DRs could've wasted all those tests except the Standing mile trap speed and dyno tests. The GTO got the best bang-for-the-buck rating because it was the cheapest, about the same price of the Z06 and capable of doing 200mph in the mile.

They need to put the 06 S281E in the test. They got nearly identical performance #'s out of it to the Z06. Saleen just ran an 11.7 @ 125 with it in stock form, right out of the box. I actually just talked to a guy who owns a new Z06, who drove an 06 S281E. His comment was that both cars felt identical in acceleration, with the E car getting the low-mid crown, and the vette having more on top. Going through the gears hard in both cars, he said he thought they were identical in acceleration feel.

I still like reading motor trend. You just have to take it with a grain of salt and remember it's meant to entertain as well as inform, it's not a scientific journal.

law of deminshing return.
I did a study on that with some other econ majors at the bars this weekend. We found it to be negatively correlated with our marginal propensity to consume.

spelled "diminishing"

When one of the factors of production is held fixed in supply, successive additions of the other factors will lead to an increase in returns up to a point, but beyond this point returns will diminish.

Example: Buy your wife or girlfriend flowers, jewelery and cars (in that order) over several years and see that your relationship will flourous and then her attitude will undoubtly get worse over time....

When did they test the new S281E? And as far as I know, you still owe me money. I got proof of a stock ZO6 going 11.2 bone stock, even the tires. Tuner car < factory GM.

Honestly, when cars get to 1000 hp (or anything above 600 rwhp, can go higher with awd) it's not really fun no more. They'll get old in a week or two. Unless you can afford to run around with drag slicks on all the time, you'll be spinning like an idiot @ 120 mph.

If I had enough money, I'd just get something like the Z06, put lt headers and a good cold air intake, and it'll be a kickass track car (I wouldn't buy a vette for drag). It'll also be fun for those nice evening canyon runs, something a 1000hp high sprung turbo car is unsuited for.

I read that article, and I found it ridiculous. The Mustang was broken for most of the testing, but for some reason they couldn't do a retest? On the other hand, they mention that Livernois had a whole night to work on the Mustang...and basically, that doesn't speak well for Livernois. That's basically what I took from that article - Livernois must really suck, they can't even provide a working test car for a national magazine.[:'(]
