law of deminshing return.
WTF is the law of Deminishing Return? Never heard of it. I've done a few reports on Einstien's laws of duality, and some college experts are actually trying to prove Murphy's Law, Too bad they cant. I'm gonna go Wiki this "law" real quick-like, I'm intrigued, haha[8D]
you're in college and never heard of the law of diminishing returns[&:] well in a racing context it would be something like .....add 100hp to a 15 sec car and you drop a full second: add 100hp to a 10 sec car and you drop a tenth....just as an example
I'm not in college broheem![8D] I'm a sophomore at Kuna High, but I'm in an advanced placement chemistry class. It gets into physics here and there because they pretty much go hand in hand, and the laws of duality DEFINITELY appl to physics and chemistry. Besides, where do you think I got my name? My real name is Jesse, but Clif Brohn is the acronoym for the seven diatomic elements, etc, etc.

Anyways, thanks for clearing up the diminishing return thing. Kinda what I thought, but not really.

Oh yeah, MT can still suck my ***** after that damn concept specualtion vs. S197. F*ckers.

FYI
law of deminshing return.
This is an economics term. Put simply, It says that as input goes up, the ratio of output will decrease.

Example that we can all understand:

Let's say you can build a 13 sec car for $1k, but it take $2k to get to 12's. Then it takes $5k to get to 11's, then $10k to get to 10's.

As your investment increases exponentially, the return does not increase by the same amount.

Not really relevent, but I just thought some may want to know.

I read that article, and I found it ridiculous. The Mustang was broken for most of the testing, but for some reason they couldn't do a retest? On the other hand, they mention that Livernois had a whole night to work on the Mustang...and basically, that doesn't speak well for Livernois. That's basically what I took from that article - Livernois must really suck, they can't even provide a working test car for a national magazine.[:'(]
They only had like two weeks to build the car and put it together. Car building ain't quick or easy. And a small thing is what messed it up, but you know how them 'stangs are.

Yeah, it won on street tires. But only the Ligenfelter and Hennessy went for the DRs, and the Hennessy won that one with a 10 flat at like 150 something I think. The Vette ran like a low 10 at 150 something too, then shat out it's diff.

I glanced at the article at the bookstore. If I'm not mistaken Livernois came in after another Mustang tuner bailed at the last minute. As for tuner cars breaking during these comparisons I'm not surprised in the least. I've read enough of them in Car and Driver to know quite a few cars are going to break.

Oh and you won't find a Saleen involved in any of these tests. Steve Saleen considers himself a manufacturer, which he is, and doesn't want to be compared to tuners cars. I lost quite a bit of respect for him when I read that.

Haha! He takes a factory Mustang/Ford car and swaps out stuff. LPE takes a factory Vette/GM car and swaps out stuff. Livernois takes a factory Mustang/Ford stuff and swaps out stuff.....Hennessey, well, you get the point. I can't fathom the fact that he doesn't think he's just a tuner....

I know. That's what ticked me off about him. Makes him look like he's got a big ego and is afraid his cars might not match up to other tuner cars. Ferrari did something similar when the F50 came out. They refused to let magazines put any test equipment to it and told any owners that if they leant their car to a magazine they would face consequences. No laps at Fiorano, exclusion from purchases of future special Ferraris etc... I forgot the name of the racecar driver but he was given an F50 for winning a championship for Ferrari. He could care less what Ferrari would do and let a magazine test his car. There had been speculation the F50 couldn't exceed or match the F40 and that was their reasoning.
