RSX Type S Kill.....how?
ORIGINAL: fallfast90
My buddy just got an 2003 Rsx type S, and i have to say it definitly is a drivers race. we raced a couple different times, and down low i was pulling on him constantly. Up top he may take you due to that sixth gear. When we raced, it came down to who had traction. First race he got me cuz i was spinning all the way up to and including 3rd. Second race, i launched between 2000-2500 rpm, got traction and it was over. we are gonna do some more runs when we get a chance to fully see how we stack up. By the way i have 2000 v6, 5spd, CAI, and true duels.

Those Rsx..whatever cars don't put any power down until you get in the high RPMs. From a dig you got em easy.
that is a pretty good kill. but yeah the rsx-s are pretty cool and id say theyre faster than our v6s. my friend from odu has one and during the semester he took out a cobalt ss s/c, thing is, they dont build any power til they get in the upper rpms. so a v6 mustang could take one out the hole with its 225 ft tq but i mean i can see the rsx-s beating a v6. i think they can get high-mid 14s or so. (i THINK, im not 100 %sure)
An RSX Type S with an average driver will run 15.0-15.2 or so, and a 99-04 v6 will run 15.7-15.9 or so with the same driver. I believe some v6's have gone 15.4-15.5 at best stock, and I know there have been some RSX Type S' that have ran 14.7-14.8 stock. And just to let you know, my friend had an RSX Type S with header, intake, and exhaust, with lowering springs and he beats 99-04 GT's most of the time, stock ones that is.

Jesus, how fast were you going if he was using 6th gear? You must of been flying...
He didnt get a chance to get to sixth on the highway, too much traffic. So we did are little "race" on a back road by my friends place. I forgot, he had just gotten a new short throw put on a few hours earlier, so that may have worked to my advantage while he was still trying to get used to it. But hey, whatever i can get huh, LOL

Whats funny about this whole post is that some people have said that the RSX-S is a good run for my Cobalt SS/SC, now they say they run 15's.
'most' are in the 14's, therefore, a car that runs a 15.0 is a good race..not saying all
