So your stock v8 stang beat a car with 340hp/390ftlbs? He must have been a really bad driver.
EDIT: Oh, except those come with a 5 speed automatic with a tiptronic type option for shifting. So I doubt it was that hah.

the R/T model is NOT fast. they run 0-60 in like 6.2, and 1/4 in high 14s IIRC. the srt8 is the quick one

20 inchers? I see these Charger R/T's being the mid 90's Impala SS's in a few years. Jacked up on 22's and painted in some crazy colors and being turned into cruisers with a muscle sound. I would never buy one if my intention was to compete. The SRT8 is a different story.
+1
except skip the SRT as well. Its still a chrystler when you get down to it.

The Charger R/T also has a tall 3.08 gear, and 20" wheels.

Even those new 300C's are available with SRT-8. I've heard of a guy with one beating a guy in a lightning. Mopar is making so many of those SRT-8 things: Magnum, Charger, 300C, and now the Cherokee? Am I missing any?
rt = low 14's
srt8 = low 13's... but some stock ones HAVE broken into the 12's... I guess 12 second isn't to bad for a 425hp motor, that costs 40k...
- yeah I went to bs with a dealer, and he told me that my stang would lose to the RT charger that "my friend was buying"... He was serious until I laughed at him, and taught him something about his Charger... and tried to make a deal to take it to the street and if I won, to let me test drive the SRT10 Ram sitting in the showroom.. he didn't want to take that bet. haha. Needless to say, im no longer welcome at that dealership...

Nothing from Dodge impresses me. Even the Viper. Sure it's fast but on the Gen 3 Vipes they had a 8.0 liter engine that only produced 450bhp. If Chevy or Ford got a hold of that thing it would be pumping a good 600bhp. They have the most inefficient motors on the market and in my opinion since gas is $3.00 a gallon thats an important issue. And to think they are owned by Mercedes which is known for getting alot of power out of smaller displacements it is really sad what they are doing to Dodge.
the new viper is an OHV engine... im sure they could tune it up if they wanted to... but then it would also raise that very high price tag too.. maybe that's what they're thinking? I really hope they do the Challenger the right way... under 4000lbs, 2 doors and in a manual. and under 40k... that'd be nice.

i saw one runing consistant mid 15's at the track on thursday. theyre all autos too ain't they? can't use the driver mod excuse on that one. that was in memphis too by the way so altitude didn't play a factor

i have intake and exhaust, they're heavy as **** and they only have a 14 second 1/4 mile pass, i actually think it might've been the tiptronic BTW

I don't know what a Charger should run either way, but an auto isn't always as easy as it should be.
