I dunno what the 5.7L Charger runs, but the 5.7L 300C can run high 13's; Car and Driver ran a 13.9 @ 100 and they suck. They're pretty much the same car I think. The SRT-8 runs low 13's @ 107-108, sometimes high 12's if conditions are right.
As far as dealers go, they won't admit that what they're trying to sell you is slower than what you drove in there. I went to a Pontiac dealership to check out the '04 GTO (an automatic) and a salesman started telling me about how much power they have. I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to downgrade, speedwise. He countered that the Goat has 350 hp, while my car only has 310. So the GTO must be faster,right?[8D]

20 inchers? I see these Charger R/T's being the mid 90's Impala SS's in a few years. Jacked up on 22's and painted in some crazy colors and being turned into cruisers with a muscle sound. I would never buy one if my intention was to compete. The SRT8 is a different story.

The Charger R/T also has a tall 3.08 gear, and 20" wheels.
Sort of like the 300 is right now, all you them on them is 22-24 inch DUBS!!! Makes me laugh when I see them!!!! Slow *** cars!!!!!

i have intake and exhaust, they're heavy as **** and they only have a 14 second 1/4 mile pass, i actually think it might've been the tiptronic BTW
i saw one runing consistant mid 15's at the track on thursday. theyre all autos too ain't they? can't use the driver mod excuse on that one. that was in memphis too by the way so altitude didn't play a factor
How does the auto take away from the driver excuse? I'm actually not trying to be a jag about this, but if I gave you 10 passes in my GTO, you probably couldn't get close to what the car should do. I've been drag racing for a long time, and that car took about 5 trips to the strip to figure out where the little teeny tiny sweet spot is for the launch. Then you can't do anything about the 1-2 shift when it just shreds the tires, resulting in a mid 15 sec pass.

I don't know what a Charger should run either way, but an auto isn't always as easy as it should be.

Last Sunday I beat an 04 GTO with ease!!!!

Sidewayz has an 05 GTO, it's a whole different game in that car.

The torque is also a lot more. Trust me, I drove Eriks car, it's not too hard to get the launch down, but there is no way of knowing if the 1-2 shift will hook or blow the tires off. This of course could be fixed with a set of drag radials, but this car is a daily driver, so that might not happen, plus why bother putting $$ into it when his Stang should be up and running soon.

RT has 2.82, SRT-8 has 3.06, no 3.08s
Thanks for the correction. A 2.82 is even worse for performance.

I'm pretty sure it's 400 ft lbs of TQ. Thats what the numbers on my LS2 Vette are rated at. Only difference is the GTO's are about 800 lbs heavier
